365 Challenge: Jan. 30, 2010

So we spent the afternoon at the park today. This was Henry's first trip to a park and he sure had a lot of fun. Sean and one of his friends tossed the football around while Henry and I played with Henry's new ball. He really enjoyed watching his Dad play with the football but even more so enjoyed watching all the kids play, ride bikes etc. We spent an hour or so at the park and only left because it was starting to get chilly as the sun started to drop behind the mountains. I took a lot of pictures and can't pick my favorites so I am going to share a bunch with you. Since I posted a Throwback picture of myself earlier I am just posting Henry's pictures tonight.

Throwback Saturday

I have decided to create a "special-themed day" for my blog...feel free to follow suit if you want. Saturday's will be a throw back picture....something from at least a year or so ago. I think this will be fun to take a look at the changes over the years. So today since I don't have many old pictures on this computer I will be sharing a picture from Sean's BMT graduation. 365 Challenge: Jan. 29, 2010

I have the beginnings of a cold so today has been kind of a lazy day around here except tonight I am doing my weekly babysitting of my friends kiddos.

365 Challenge: Jan. 28, 2010

Finishing....

Well after much thought I have decided to finish my degree and even figured out what to major in! This is a big accomplishment for me. I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do for several years. I have about 2 1/2 years or less of school left. So once I get back into classes I will be able to get my degree finished before Sean's enlistment is up. That is really important to me because I know at this point in time Sean doesn't want to stay in the Air Force after this enlistment so I need to be able to get a job if he does get out.
I am so excited to know that I will be completing my degree FINALLY. Oh you probably want to know what I am majoring in huh? I am majoring in Accounting and minoring in Business Administration. I will be attending UMUC mainly because I don't want to have to transfer credits (again) if Sean gets orders elsewhere before I finish. Plus online courses will be much easier for me with Henry than having to find affordable (that's laughable in Vegas) childcare while I go to classes.
Anyway I am kind of rambling on but I am excited.
Alright back to your regular scheduled programming.

I fell off the wagon quickly huh?
I promise I will get back to this. My husband, Sean, changed shifts at work and as much as we love the shift change it has taken a while to get back into a routine.
Not much has been happening around here other than getting into a smooth routine and I am sure now that we have gotten into a routine something will come up and change it again right?
Oh yeah...Henry has learned to climb up on to the coffee table. It is so funny, he gets up there and can't figure out to get down.
Well I have a picture of him climbing and just a plain one of me. I will work harder to accomplish a daily post.

Day 12: Jan. 12, 2010

Well I was attempting to get Sadie, my dog, to take a picture with me but she was more interested in what her older sister, other dog Sophie, was doing than to pose with me. I waxed my eyebrows today but this picture really doesn't show that. I have never done them myself but I can't ever find the time to go get them done. So I went ahead and did them myself.
Henry is starting to walk behind things if he is holding on of course. He gets so excited when he walks...his laugh is hilarious. It is amazing to me how quickly he has grown. He has such a personality!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

I am glad we don't living Illinois right now....hate to say it because I hate Las Vegas and all its dirtiness but dang its cold back in Illinois. I will stick with my 60 degree weather thanks!

Sean changed shifts at work and now Henry won't sleep through the night or past 7am! Seriously kid give me a break! I like this new schedule but sure don't like getting up in the middle of the night and then again at 7am.

My truck is making a wicked bad noise when I turn now! It is kind of embarrasing and really annoying. But it seems like something is always the matter with my truck so I am not sure why I am surprised!

Day 11: Jan. 11, 2010

Today Sean started working different hours at work which will be an adjustment for both of us. I think it will be better for me at least because I am more productive at night than I am in the morning. Tonight I spent the evening cleaning the oven and stove....have I mentioned I HATE having a gas stove? Well in case I haven't I really despise having a gas stove/oven! I took everything apart and scrubbed the stove top, front and sides of it. Then I used the self-cleaning feature to clean the oven. Oh my goodness the smoky nastiness! I even had all of the smoke alarms going...oops. I had to open all of the windows to clear the smoke. I forgot one important thing when I opened the windows....one of the screens is ripped and needs replaced. So in all of my cleaning madness I had to go find our runaway blind cat! Oh tonight has been a great night. Well enough of my rambling....on to the pictures!
By the way I plan to have my hair done next....I am going to take Ashley's advice and get a perm! Woohoo...now I just have to find a great stylist....any tips (hint Mrs. Seamonster!)

Menu: Jan. 10 through Jan. 16

I completely forgot to post the weekly menu. Sean is starting a new work schedule this week so our menu is a little unusual. I am sure once we get into the swing of the new schedule I can create a better menu.
I am only posting our main meals for this week because I am not completely sure what the other two meals will be. I am also not posting sides...we like to pick our sides depending on our mood.

Sunday: KFC
Monday: Chicken Teriyaki and Broccoli
Tuesday: Honey Garlic Chicken
Wednesday: Pot Roast
Thursday: Tuna Noodle
Friday: Red Beans and Rice Deluxe
Saturday: Veggie Burgers

Last weeks meals were really yummy. The only thing we didn't eat was the portobella cap pizza. The Veggie Quiche was the BEST! Sean thought I was crazy when I was making and was very prepared to go out and pick up some fast food but he was pleasantly surprised at how great it tasted. I must say it was even better leftover the next day.

I am still working on the best way to do our menu planning so if you have any advice please let me know!

Weekend Recap Days 9 and 10

So I was a slacker yesterday and didn't post my picture...I know I am totally lazy huh?
On Saturday I don't think we got off the couch except to get food...we were totally lazy. Today we hit the gym and watched the NFC Wildcard Game but that was about it.
Anyway I cannot remember which day each of these pictures were taken but here they are! Please excuse the sweats...I love my sweats ;-)

Day 8: Jan. 8, 2010

A day late but here it is....
Watch out folks...he is a CLIMBER! He climbed up on that chair so he could get into things he isn't supposed too.
I took this last night after we got home from celebrating DH's birthday. We had a great night out...even got a babysitter to go to the movies.

These are pictures of the ice cream cake I made for DH's birthday. I had never made an ice cream cake but it turned out really yummy. I have decided I think I want to take a cake decorating class though...I enjoy making cakes but am not very good a decorating.

will come tomorrow...today is DH's birthday and we are having a date/family night!

Day 7: Jan. 7, 2010

Tomorrow is DH's birthday! I asked him a few days ago if he would prefer a homemade cake (his favorite yellow cake, chocolate frosting) or an ice cream cake. Well he could not make a decision so I decided I would try to make a homemade ice cream cake with his favorite cake and ice cream. The first picture tonight is the beginnings of his ice cream cake! I will post the final outcome tomorrow.






It's Henry's bedtime and he doesn't want to believe me! He wants to keep playing even though it is very obvious he is tried. I took his picture tonight as I was putting him to bed for the 2nd time!

And finally here is my picture of the day. I took this right after I got home from a 2 hour workout at the gym.
This picture makes me realize I like my eyes! I know that is kind of random but I think this picture makes my eyes standout!
